The student will be acquainted with key topics of contemporary urbanism in a global context (megalopolis, peripheries, population growth, transport and landscape management, etc.) as a prerequisite for understanding local topics and their global links. Topics: 1. STRATEGIC PLANNING OF CITIES in relation to analytical and production section 2. PROCESSES AND TOOLS OF URBAN DESIGN and its actors 3. CITY TERRITORIAL PLAN and state development policy, policy of architecture and building culture, territorial analytical data 4. PUBLIC SPACE and changes in public space today 5. PUBLIC SPACES AND LOCATION OF THE CONSTRUCTION in relation to urban detail 6. PARTICIPATION IN URBAN PLANNING and how and when to participate, methods of participation, groups actors in the city, examples of interesting results, critical reflection 7. URBAN DEVELOPMENT and economic aspects of city construction, market demand and supply, role of an urban planner and architect from the developer's point of view 8. LANDSCAPE CREATION and its structural elements, the relationship between the landscape and the urban whole, land art, parks and gardens 9. SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY and its systems, applications and implementation 10. TOD - TRANSIT ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT and the role of public transport and multimodal transport nodes in the urbanistic development
