Course content

Lectures: 1) Pneumology: inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract, TB, COPD 2) Pneumology: bronchial asthma tumors, pneumoconiosis, hyperventilation syndrome, mediastinal and pleural diseases 3) Diabetology: type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus 4) Diabetology: acute conditions in diabetes mellitus 5) Nephrology: inflammatory diseases of the urinary tract, urolithiasis, acute and chronic renal failure, dialysis-transplantation program 6) Hematology: red blood cell disease 7) Hematology: diseases of the white blood line and other diseases of the blood Exercises: 1) Nursing process in a patient with inflammatory airways disease, COPD 2) Nursing process in patients with bronchial asthma 3) Nursing process in a patient with diabetes mellitus 4) Nursing process in patients with inflammatory diseases of the kidneys and urinary tract 5) Nursing process with acute and chronic renal failure, nursing process in patients in a dialysis-transplant program 6) Nursing process in patients with red blood cell diseases 7) Nursing process in patients with white blood cell diseases

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to get acquainted with the problems of internal medicine and to implement the nursing process for individual internal diseases. The theoretical-practical course is part of a complex of courses from clinical nursing in internal medicine. It introduces the differences of treatment and nursing care of patients in internal medicine, specifies the nursing process in internal medicine.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.

|
Oral exam, Test
Classified credit: - 80% attendance at seminars, - passing the test, - oral examination (medical and nursing part).
