Lectures: 1) Pronunciation rules, syllable length, accent; basic grammar terminology 2) 1st declination nouns 3) Adjectives of 1st and 2nd declension 4) Nouns and adjectives of the 3rd declension 5) Nouns of the 4th and 5th declension 6) Outline of the verbal system, participles, imperatives, presentative conjunctives 7) Comparison of adjectives, numerals 8) Adverbia 9) Latin prefixes and suffixes; Greek prefixes and suffixes, compound words

Learning outcomes
|
The course is designed as theoretical. It acquaints students with Latin grammar and terminology. Students will acquire the basics of the Latin language necessary for the study of vocational subjects and for the future profession. Basic knowledge of Latin terminology significantly helps to understand professional medical language expression.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Test
Credit: - self-study, - teaching activity. Exam: - written test: mastering vocabulary and grammar from the given scripts and the materials distributed will be a prerequisite for passing the exam, - oral exam.
