Learning outcomes |
In this course, students learn to recognize, critically reflect and interpret all that the present architecture means, what forms it takes and how it changes. "Present" is understood here dynamically, with a starting point in current problems, in excursions in the sense of a historically used term "Contemporary" since the 1960s, with occasional probes deeper into history. "Architecture" is understood here as an extended field, beyond projects and buildings, with an emphasis on methods of architectural communication and current issues. The program of the course changes every semester, with a given topic each time, such as the exhibition of architecture, architectural magazines, architecture and film. Teaching combines lessons in the classroom and field trips and includes meetings and discussions with personalities who are active in the given field - architects, historians, theorists and critics of architecture, exhibitions curators, etc. Tentative overview of lectures: 1. Exhibiting architecture 2. Architectural magazines 3. Architecture and film 4. Architecture and photography 5. Architecture and new media 6. Architecture and ecology 7. Conversion architecture
