Course content
|
Thematic areas: 1. Concept of thematic maps, content page of thematic maps. 2. Composition of thematic maps, legend in the thematic map (creation, assembly, semiotics). 3. Relative values in the thematic map - cartograms, absolute values in the thematic map - cartograms. 4. Color in captive thematic maps, description and font in thematic maps. 5.Scale - part of thematic maps, evaluation factors of thematic maps. 6. Map styles of thematic maps or map stylistics. 7. Thematic map works in the Czech Republic.

Learning outcomes
|
The course deepens the existing knowledge of the basics of cartography and analyzes the individual parts of the creation of a map work in thematic cartography.
Knowledges upgrade of subject cartography and topography. Aplication of knowledges to working out given map outputs

Fulfil of subjects KAP/ZGIS nebo KGD/ZGIS a KGE/KATN

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Presentation of acquired experience via portfolio
Credit: Students work on a cartographic project of creating a thematic map, which they present and defend. They pass a control test. During the semester, they complete ongoing tasks focused on the lectured material. They apply the acquired knowledge when working with map and atlas parts.
