1. Power and fuels and the environment 2. Fossile fuels and their extraction 3. Coal power plants 4. Nuclear power plants 5. The greenhouse effect and global warming 6. Sun and solar energy 7. Active use of solar energy 8. Passive use of solar energy 9. Low-energy houses 10. Photovoltaics 11. Thermal pumps 12. Biomass 13. Wind power 14. An external lecture or an educational trip (during the term) Exercises: The contents of the exercises are based on the lectures.

Learning outcomes
|
Comprehensive study of energy sources following on from the compulsory subject of building technical infrastructure, covering fossil fuels, thermal power plants, nuclear energy, the atmospheric greenhouse effect, and the utilisation of solar power.
The student will be independently capable to orientate oneself in the frame of alternative energy sources questions, regards to energy sources for building. Consequences to the life environment questions.
